Salaries

The salary of a Nanny is dependent on many factors including their qualifications and experience, your location and whether they are employed as a daily or live-in nanny. We do recommend that if you require a Special Needs Nanny, then you may need to consider offering a higher salary. A nanny’s salary is nearly always quoted as the NET amount instead of the gross total, although it is important that when offering a position of employment you do agree a gross annual salary with your nanny.

Maternity Nannies are self-employed and are therefore responsible for their own Tax and National Insurance. They will have their own contract of employment, conditions and rates of pay. Typically a Maternity Nanny will request 1 weeks salary as a deposit and prefer to commit to a firm commencement date.

Contract of Employment

When employing a nanny it is part of your legal requirements as an employer to ensure that your nanny has an employment contract in place.
