Salary  £10 (net) per hour

Special needs nanny care is required for 2 children – (F) a girl who is 15 years of age and (B) a boy aged 12. Description  Live-In Nanny   Job Ref HHB-23/05

Location Richmond, SW14

Start Date beg. August '10

Salary  £350-£400 (net) per week. £23,591 - £27,350 (gross) per annum.

A family living in Richmond, Surrey require an experienced live-in Nanny for their 2 children, a boy (T) aged 5 and a girl (S) aged 3 years of age.

A candidate who has previous experience working with children with special needs would be advantageous. However, due to the high level of support already in place his would be more advantageous than a necessity.

(T) has Global Developmental Delay with a significant speech and language disorder, he has poor balance, short attention span and has no sense of danger, so needs constant supervision. Along with these developmental delays, he also has occasional epilepsy seizures, which are controlled with medication. (T) responds well to someone who can be firm and direct, but with a kind manner.

(T) attends school every morning and in September his attendance will be significantly longer. Throughout the week (T) has speech and language therapy, ABA VB therapy and regularly attends cognitive therapy and physiotherapy. The family have back-to-back support already arranged for (T), with therapists coming into the home 7 days a week and extra care arranged during the holidays. This leaves the nanny to focus the majority of their care on (T)’s younger sister. (S) has no additional needs and attends full-time nursery. Both children particularly enjoy participating in musical activities.

During the day whilst children are at school/nursery, some light household chores will be required (family already employ a cleaner) and the preparation/cooking of meals. The family seek a warm, happy and proactive candidate, who is happy to help out with a busy household.
